Job summary

KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is hiring a Host for our fast-paced restaurant environment in Syracuse. You will be the first and last impression for guests, greeting them warmly and helping create a smooth dining experience.

Role emphasizes strong communication, stamina, and a welcoming, energetic attitude as you guide guests through seating, menus, and questions about the KPOT brand. Weekend/evening availability is often required.

Qualifications

• Prior restaurant experience is not necessary but preferred.
• Strong communication and a passion for delivering world-class service at every touchpoint.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Push, pull up, or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional kneeling.
• Comfortable working around grills and hot cooking surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
• Provide guests with accurate wait times and manage waitlists.
• Seat guests, provide menus and assist servers with initial drink orders.
• Answer guest questions regarding the menu and KPOT brand.
• Provide accurate information regarding menu, pricing, hours, promotions, and policies.
• Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
• Observe and monitor table turnover and cleanliness of tables.
• Maintain the front-of-house and host station in good order.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Inform management of large parties, special requests, or guest concerns.
• Answer phones professionally and courteously.
• Handle to-go inquiries or direct them to the appropriate team member.
• Ensure business cards, beverage menus, and other paper goods are stocked.
• Monitor restrooms and notify management of issues.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, hospitality-focused attitude.
