Job summary

IHOP in Indianapolis is hiring a friendly Host/Hostess to greet guests within 30 seconds of arrival, seat them promptly, and maintain a welcoming dining environment. You will rotate station seating to ensure smooth service and help with To Go orders when needed.

No prior experience required. Training provided; strong English reading and verbal skills, basic math for checks, and the ability to follow IHOP SOP guidelines are expected.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to read and speak English, to understand guest checks, instructions, warning and safety labels, and communicate with others.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• IHOP training course work as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests promptly, cheerfully, and courteously.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with IHOP employees and guests.
• Rotate station seating to ensure quality guest service.
• Answer the telephone, take messages, and handle To Go orders.
• Maintain a waiting list and check restrooms for cleanliness.
• Clear, clean and reset tables and assist with other duties as assigned.
