Job summary

The Resort at Summerlin seeks a friendly Host/Cashier to greet guests and seat them promptly, maintaining an even distribution of guests across stations. You will support management in coordinating staff to ensure efficient service, and handle payments with accuracy in a fast-paced, upscale environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of host experience, a High School diploma or GED, and a neat, professional appearance.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 1 year of hotel/restaurant Host experience.
Skills: maintain a friendly, professional demeanor; clear verbal and written communication; neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance; familiarity with the menu, procedures, and pricing; basic math for billing and split checks.

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly at the door, assess their needs, and seat them according to guidelines.
Ensure dining room staff know their stations and partner workers; distribute guests evenly and adjust seating as needed.
Implement dining room break schedules and manage work schedules as directed by management.
Accurately handle payments (cash, credit, room charges) and operate the Micros POS system.
Maintain guest focus, check with guests for satisfaction, and assist staff with orders when needed.
Notify management of any issues and follow directions; move around the restaurant to support operations.
