Job summary

Sonesta Hotels International Corporation is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests, seat them, and assist in maintaining the restaurant’s standards of service. You will help prepare the dining area for service and ensure cleanliness throughout shifts.

This role requires basic reading, writing and math skills and experience in customer service and/or cash handling in hospitality. Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit are preferred, with possible night/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Prior customer service and/or cash handling experience in the hospitality industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and escort to tables.
• Seat guests according to restaurant standards.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and liquor regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and host station.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service.
• Maintain tables, menus and wine lists.
• Report shortages to supervisor.
• Adhere to department policies and service procedures.
