Job summary

SA Hospitality Group is seeking a friendly host to greet guests, seat them as directed by management, and ensure guests’ needs are met while they wait.

You will promote teamwork, answer phones, coordinate with colleagues, clear and reset tables when needed, assist with opening tasks, handle special requests, and be available to answer reservation questions; you’ll also follow service steps from our training manual and help with ongoing guest relations.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain personal cleanliness.
• Very basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills welcomed.
• Ability to communicate and understand direction in English to ensure safety.
• Ability to understand, respond, and engage with coworkers, managers, and guests in English.
• Time management and ability to work under pressure during high volume periods.
• Active listening and learning skills.
• Reading and speaking comprehension skills.
• Discipline to follow set standards.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a prompt and courteous manner with smile; seat guests ensuring a seat assignment done by management is followed.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other coworkers and managers.
• Answer phones and provide guests with requested information and arrange bookings.
• Routinely clear and reset tables and assist with opening tasks such as cleaning flowers, glassware, and floors.
• May handle guest complaints and special requests.
• Assist with coat check area: receive items, organize coat closet, issue items by ticket.
• May assist with other duties as assigned by restaurant management.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain professional demeanor with all staff.
• Assist staff with service steps to satisfy guests, such as food delivery.
• Be accessible to staff and guests to answer questions about reservations.
• Follow service steps based on training manual and communicate them to staff.
