Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is hiring for a Front Desk/Guest Services role at The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club in Virginia Beach. Assist guests with arrivals and departures, input data, and manage payments while delivering exceptional service in a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Adept at using a calculator for moderately complex math tasks without error.
• Ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers with tact and diplomacy.
• Able to stand and move throughout the front office and perform duties.
• Able to input information using a moderately complex computer system.
• Able to observe signs of emergency situations.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues and guests.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a friendly, sincere welcome and provide accurate information.
• Complete registration by inputting data, confirming guests, and processing payments.
• Handle credit cards, vouchers, and currency exchanges; post charges to guest accounts.
• Answer telephones clearly and route messages to guests as requested.
• Close accounts at checkout and resolve dissatisfaction with appropriate adjustments.
• Respond to guest complaints with thorough research and effective solutions.
• Remain calm during emergencies and busy periods, using sound judgment.
• Attend to duties and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other front desk duties as assigned.
