Job summary

Residence Inn Ohare/Rosemont is seeking a Front Desk Agent to provide attentive, courteous service during check-in, stay, and checkout while maximizing revenue and occupancy. You will answer guest inquiries, quote rates, manage reservations, and uphold credit policies in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities include handling check-ins/outs, operating the front desk system, maintaining room blocks, and promoting guest programs.

Qualifications

College coursework in related field is helpful.
Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Computer experience required.
Customer Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
Follow all credit policies.
Be aware of rates, packages and special promotions as listed in the Red Book.
Be familiar with all in-house groups.
Be aware of closed out and restricted dates.
Obtain information when taking room reservations and follow rate-quoting scenarios.
Be familiar with hospitality terminology.
Handle check-ins and checkouts in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner.
Operate the Front Desk computer system.
Complete shift checklist timely and efficiently.
Balance and close shift paperwork per hotel standards.
Maintain and market promotions and guest programs.
Assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
