Responsibilities include operating the POS, handling various tender types, following promotions, maintaining food safety practices, and creating a welcoming shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane
• Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit and select government programs
• Adhere to cash handling, loss prevention policies and reporting of discrepancies
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Stay informed about pricing and promotions; report discrepancies as needed
• Comply with food safety regulations and store safety policies
• Create an inviting environment by answering questions about products and store services
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and appropriate conduct; notify management of hazards
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and resolve issues calmly
