Job summary

Kroger in Wisconsin is hiring a cashier to deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced environment. You will greet customers, assist at the register, and maintain a welcoming, clean space.

You will use the POS system, handle various tender types including SNAP EBT and coupons, and follow policy on restricted items. The role emphasizes safety, integrity, and helpful shopper interactions, with flexible scheduling and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the checkout.
• Operate the POS system and handle Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions, including seasonal offers.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and with integrity.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
