Job summary

You will operate the POS, handle multiple tender types, and follow safety and policy guidelines to ensure accurate, efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them in a friendly manner
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout
• Operate the POS system and handle tender types (Cash, Checks, Cards, EBT, coupons) per policy
• Maintain awareness of cash handling limits and prevent loss
• Adhere to guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay informed about current and upcoming ads and promotions
• Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures
• Identify hazards, report issues, and support a safe store environment
• Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs when needed
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions
• Follow all laws and company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced, sometimes high-stress settings
• Handle conflicts calmly and professionally
• Maintain honesty and integrity in customer and business interactions
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues
• Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed
