Job summary

Kroger is looking for friendly cashiers/checkers to create an outstanding customer experience at our Kenosha store. You will greet customers, handle transactions, operate the POS, and follow safety, pricing, and policy guidelines to ensure a smooth checkout process.

Applicants with prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk are encouraged. Flexible scheduling for part-time and full-time roles is available, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP/EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Follow restrictions on sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions or issues to management.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer questions about products.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Be honest and discreet with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support with interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
