Job summary

Kroger in Mequon, WI is seeking a cashier/checker to provide outstanding customer service, process transactions, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. You will greet customers, handle POS transactions, manage various payment methods, and ensure adherence to policies on restricted items and coupons.

This role requires basic math skills and prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred. On-site, full-time opportunities with comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in-store.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, card payments, and other tenders per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow coupon/gift card procedures.
• Keep up with current ads and promotions.
• Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Perform equipment inspections and coordinate repairs.
