Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring for a Cashier/Checker role in Wisconsin. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and operate the POS system to process transactions efficiently and accurately.

Maintain a welcoming store environment and follow safety, cash handling, and policy guidelines. Responsibilities include staying informed about ads, promotions, and compliant practices, while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to all laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in a visible manner.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, debit/credit, and other payment types per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to control loss with honesty and accuracy.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; assist with repairs as needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and help customers with product questions.
