Job summary

Kroger in Rothschild, WI is seeking a part-time Cashier/Checker to deliver excellent customer service and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will greet customers, handle transactions, and follow policies on discounts and restricted items.

The role emphasizes honesty, integrity, and helping customers find products. We value teamwork and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced setting while following food safety guidelines and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the storefront.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the POS system and handle tender types such as cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to company cash handling limits and work to prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons where applicable.
• Stay current with ads and promotions (present, future, seasonal, special).
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents to management.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs to appropriate department or store manager.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products across departments.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflicts calmly.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
