Job summary

Terrain Cafe in Wayland, MA is expanding and hiring for an August 10th start to support the opening of our fourth location. We are seeking dynamic hospitality professionals for both full-time and part-time roles in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

This entry-level Service Assistant position focuses on delivering excellent guest experiences, keeping dining areas clean, and collaborating across service roles.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant or food service preferred but not required.
• Polished, professional appearance and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverages accurately, with an understanding of menu details.
• Assist with guest needs and relay questions or concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Clear and reset tables within 3 minutes of guest departure.
• Assist with packaging takeout orders.
• Maintain awareness of the dining room and proactively assist where needed.
• Keep kitchen expo areas, service stations, and dining room clean and organized.
• Polish and restock silverware, glassware, and plateware throughout the shift.
• Monitor and remove trash and recycling regularly.
• Ensure safe and clear walkways for guests and staff at all times.
• Memorize table and seat numbers to aid in efficient service.
• Learn menu details, ingredients, and allergen protocols.
• Communicate guest concerns clearly to team leads.
• Assist FOH staff during high-volume periods.
• Help with opening and closing duties, including setting/resetting the dining room.
