Job summary

Hotel Hermosa in Hermosa Beach, CA, seeks a Guest Service Representative to be the welcoming face of the property and play a key role in guest satisfaction. You will help guests during their stay and ensure front desk operations run smoothly with warmth and professionalism.

You will handle check-ins/outs, cash handling, reservations, and guest inquiries, while sharing knowledge about the hotel and local area. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required to support the team.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service or related experience preferred.
• Genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, and confident when interacting with guests.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work a flexible schedule including weekends/evenings/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome arriving guests and provide a friendly, efficient check-in experience.
• Process guest departures, close accounts, and ensure charges are accurate.
• Handle cash, credit transactions, receipts, and guest accounts according to hotel procedures.
• Answer guest questions and provide knowledgeable recommendations about the hotel and surrounding area.
• Accept and manage reservations by phone and in person, communicating rates and availability.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to create value and enhance guest experience.
• Stay informed about hotel amenities and local events to confidently assist guests.
• Receive, sort, and distribute guest mail and messages; maintain front desk logs.
