Sonesta International Hotels in Austin, TX is seeking a Guest Services Agent to deliver exceptional Sonesta Service at the front desk and support the Operations Manager during shifts.

You will register guests, handle reservations and payments, answer phones, and assist with guest information while upholding brand standards. This role requires English fluency, basic math skills, and willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred.
• Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, P&L concepts, percentages and variances preferred.
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• ServSafe certification may be required.
• TIPS certification may be required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest interactions per G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Register guests, issue keys, provide information on services and locations; answer phones promptly.
• Process cash/credit transactions and prepare deposits; maintain cash security.
• May book reservations; process cancellations and updates; upsell rooms to maximize revenue.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategy; coordinate with management on room types and pricing.
• Promote teamwork and service quality through communication with other shifts and management.
• Serve the shoppe and the bar; follow local laws on alcohol sales.
• Fulfill guest special requests and ensure delivery of services.
• Issue, control and release guest safes.
