Blue Origin LLC seeks a leader to build and mentor a high-performing mechanical design engineering team responsible for tooling and fixtures for engine and flight hardware.

The role requires directing project execution, reviews, and stakeholder communications while driving cost-conscious design improvements and ROI analyses. You will collaborate across disciplines to keep multiple programs on track and deliver results in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years designing and integrating mechanical systems and assemblies.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure timely project completion.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery in tooling, fixtures, or aerospace environments.
• Experience with CATIA, Siemens NX, or PTC Creo/Windchill for design and documentation.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS, FEMAP, NASTRAN, or similar.

Responsabilidades

• Build and mentor a high-performing team of mechanical design engineers and support their development.
• Prepare and deliver performance reviews, both informal and formal.
• Communicate tooling priorities, timelines, and obstacles to stakeholders and leadership.
• Balance and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage staffing to ensure progress on business unit objectives.
• Drive engineering project execution, develop plans, assess trade-offs, manage risks, and report status.
• Provide technical support on tooling and GSE solutions as needed.
• Evaluate business cases for upgrades to ensure strong ROI.
• Explore alternative requirements and design approaches to reduce costs.
• Promote results-driven planning and continuous process improvement.
• Conduct design reviews of tooling and fixtures for engine and flight hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues.
