Job summary

Blue Origin in Kent, WA, seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer focused on tooling and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to enable efficient aerospace hardware production. You will design, release, and support tooling through all lifecycle stages.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve processes, ensure manufacturability, and maintain engineering documentation. Occasional extended hours and regional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, tooling design, GSE design, production support, or hardware development.
• Experience designing, developing, releasing, and implementing tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, or GSE for mechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, GD&T, tolerance analysis, manufacturability/assembly, and controlled documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, and GSE supporting manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test of flight hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new or revised build processes and tooling concepts.
• Plan and support builds of engineering demonstrators, test articles, and prototype hardware.
• Drive DFX principles, conduct producibility assessments, and develop roadmaps to bridge manufacturing gaps.
• Develop, release, and maintain engineering documents and tooling specifications.
