Job summary

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic 2 to maintain, repair, and inspect the GSE fleet as part of the GSE team. The role supports our mission with a strong safety focus and adherence to policy, working in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires at least 2 years of mechanical experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and the ability to read maintenance manuals. Onsite 4/10 shifts with potential future schedules; travel 25%+ may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant mechanical experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to interpret and follow printed or electronic maintenance manuals.
• Strong systems mechanical background with ability to learn new equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensures timely and quality maintenance on company owned/leased GSE and vehicle fleet.
• Performs diagnostic procedures to determine needed repairs.
• Keeps and records maintenance records in Limbal and 3DX.
• Assists with and perform standard to complex mechanical checks with the ability to use various tools and equipment.
• Helps with daily preoperational inspection of equipment for serviceability.
• Fuels and charges assets in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, showroom-standard workspace.
