Virgin Galactic is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Supervisor to lead the GSE Maintenance team in ensuring safe, reliable, and timely maintenance of GSE, SGSE, and vehicle fleets. The role combines hands‑on leadership with strategic maintenance management within a high‑reliability aerospace environment.

The position requires a strong systems mechanical background, extensive aerospace experience, and proven ability to lead teams, manage schedules, and drive safety excellence.

Qualifications

• Relevant education such as trade school or an Associate’s degree, or equivalent technical work experience.
• Minimum of six years’ experience in an aerospace or high‑reliability field with three years of leading others and/or demonstrated ability to lead and train technical concepts.
• Strong systems mechanical background and ability to learn new and/or customized equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Good judgment with the ability to make accurate and timely decisions.
• Strong motivational, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer applications and interpret maintenance manuals.
• Ability to interpret printed or electronic maintenance manuals and adapt to a paperless environment using tablets and MRO software.
• Strong analytical skills with commercial acumen to assess the impact of decisions.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and work independently cross-functionally.
• Set clear objectives and milestones; communicate clearly and with transparency.
• Lead by example with safety focus, housekeeping, tool control, and handling hazardous materials and PPE.
• Familiar with PPE usage.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and prioritize daily activities for the GSE team.
• Supervise shop floor activities and ensure timely, high‑quality maintenance on company owned/leased GSE, SGSE, and vehicle fleet.
• Lead and develop technicians including performance management.
• Assist in developing and managing maintenance requirements, manuals, and training modules.
• Assist in procurement and vetting of GSE, SGSE, and tooling needs.
• Identify and update maintenance requirements and drive continuous improvements.
• Promote safety and FOD awareness and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coach and transfer expertise to drive projects to completion.
• Ensure deliverables align with schedule, goals, and defined roles.
