Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Strategic Planning and Performance Principal to join the Office of Growth. This role partners with senior leaders to operationalize growth priorities, lead governance, and create transparent reporting on performance and risks across markets and lines of business.

You will establish structured planning processes, develop 3-year roadmaps, and drive enterprise-wide alignment, ensuring timely execution of strategic initiatives and data-driven decision making

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience supporting executive governance forums (e.g., MQBRs, senior leadership reviews)
• Strong strategic planning, portfolio management, and prioritization expertise
• Experience working in payer/provider or healthcare growth strategy environments
• Executive-level communication and presentation skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for data management, analysis, reporting, and decision support

Responsibilities

• Governance & Operational Enablement of Growth Strategy across markets and lines of business
• Lead planning, coordination, and facilitation of executive governance forums
• Establish standardized processes, reporting, and performance tracking for visibility of operations, outcomes, and risks
• Drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure execution of priorities
• Partner with executive stakeholders to synthesize insights, elevate risks, and enable data-driven decision making
• Ensure continuity and follow-through of actions across governance cycles
• Support development of materials for enterprise leadership forums and Board discussions on growth performance and strategy
• Develop and manage enterprise and line-of-business growth roadmaps and 3-year plans
