Job summary

CM CORP is seeking an experienced Project Accountant in Southern California. The role requires at least five years in general accounting and a minimum of two years in construction accounting, with proficiency in Procore, QuickBooks, and MS Office.

The Project Accountant will meet tight deadlines while balancing project and corporate accounting duties, including invoicing, subcontractor payments, and project costing.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in accounting.
• 2 years of experience in construction accounting.
• Must have excellent computer knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite, QuickBooks, Procore and other common accounting software.
• Resume to include a list of references from past employers/clients.
• Experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly client billing package including AIA G702 and G703 based on percentage complete using Procore.
• Knowledge of preliminary notices, collecting and tracking mechanics lien waivers down to the supplier level.
• Coordinate and track project AIA billings with Project Management to ensure timely payments.
• Prepare subcontractor, supplier, and general condition payments by verifying invoices against commitments.
• Maintain project folders with documents such as contracts, change orders, pre-liens, insurance, licenses, lien waivers, invoices.
• Manage project job costing and reporting project cash flows.
• Assist corporate accounting with tasks such as credit card processing.
• Collaborate with team members to support department goals.
