Job summary

Employbridge is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support construction projects from inception through completion. You will handle project-level accounting functions including billing, cost tracking, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial administration, partnering with project teams and stakeholders.

The role reports to the Controller/ CFO and requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3+ years of construction-related accounting experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environments.
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting, billing, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with CMiC, Sage 300, Procore, TimberScan, Textura, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned projects.
  • Process and reconcile invoices, billings, and project-related costs.
  • Verify payment documentation and maintain accurate project financial records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities as needed.
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, costs, and billings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly cost reports and supporting financial documentation.
  • Analyze project financial performance and identify cost variances.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support forecasting and budget management.
  • Prepare project-level financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and accounting standards.
  • Utilize construction accounting and project management systems including CMiC, Sage 300, Procore, TimberScan, and Textura.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and project operations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for project billing and payment coordination.
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and trade partners regarding invoices, payments, and required documentation.
  • Assist in resolving billing and payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Accounting teams to support project success.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to support the financial management of construction projects from inception through completion. The Project Accountant will be responsible for project-level accounting functions including billing, cost tracking, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial administration. This role partners closely with Project Managers, clients, trade partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records, effective cost management, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

This position reports directly to the Controller/CFO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned projects

Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environments
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting, billing, and financial reporting
  • Experience with CMiC, Sage 300, Procore, TimberScan, Textura, or similar systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
