Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join Health Quest Medical Associates in Gibsonia. The role includes back-office and front-office duties with growth opportunities. Hours are Monday–Friday, daylight hours; no evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Prior Medical Assistant experience preferred and duties include HIPAA-compliant records, patient flow, and basic clinical tasks. Applicants will be placed on the Medical Assistant Career Ladder based on experience and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• CPR/BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Send/receive patient records in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics; schedule appointments.
• Prepare and manage charts; maintain infection control and clean exam rooms.
• Assist patients with transfers, taking vitals, and collecting specimens per provider guidelines.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and clinic procedures; document patient information.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with OSHA, PA Dept. of Health, and UPMC policies.
