Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Valley Family Medicine in Natrona Heights, PA. The role is full-time, with 40 hours weekly, primarily back office duties and some front desk support. Occasional travel to the Lower Burrell office may be required.

Prior Medical Assistant experience is preferred. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals and performing EKGs, injections, lab work, and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow; accompany patients to exam rooms.
• Room patients, take vitals, assist with exams and collect specimens.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, injections and level one labs as directed.
• Handle front desk duties and patient education per provider guidance.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and proper handling of medical records.
