Job summary

Meritus Credit Union seeks a Director of Operations to lead its branch network, develop Branch Managers, and drive exceptional member experiences while achieving growth in deposits, lending, and relationships. The role partners with the VP of Operations and other departments to execute strategic plans for expansion and efficiency.

The Director will coach leaders, monitor performance, and promote accountability, service excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement across multiple branches.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions.
• Experience leading managers and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong understanding of branch operations and member service.
• Ability to set goals, analyze performance, coach leaders, and drive results.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel between branch locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and hold Branch Managers accountable for performance and goals.
• Monitor branch performance and financial results; drive improvement plans.
• Develop leadership culture through coaching and development opportunities.
• Champion an exceptional member experience and deepen member relationships.
• Ensure efficient branch operations through staffing, scheduling, and process improvement.
• Partner with leaders to maintain controls, compliance, security, and risk practices.
• Collaborate with HR on hiring, performance management, and development.
• Support promotional initiatives, community outreach, and strategic priorities.
• Provide leadership coverage during extended absences.
