Job summary

Gusto is seeking an experienced data science leader to build and manage a high-impact analytics team focused on Growth. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to deliver data-driven insights and AI-enabled features that shape product direction and accelerate business growth.

You will mentor senior data scientists, balance strategic influence with hands-on work, and communicate insights to executives, helping guide long-term roadmaps and investment

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading data science teams in a growth SaaS environment.
• Strong ability to connect data insights to product strategy and business goals.
• Experience mentoring data scientists on best practices and impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of data scientists and analysts across Growth initiatives.
• Shape product strategy through data by partnering with Product and cross-functional leaders.
• Develop and scale measurement frameworks and ensure rigorous tracking of AI-powered features.
• Support experimentation, A/B tests, segmentation, and funnel analyses for AI/ML systems.
• Collaborate with ML Engineering and Product on AI-powered product development.
• Balance strategic guidance with hands-on data work to drive tangible impact.
• Influence senior leadership with clear insights and recommendations.
