Job summary

Gusto is seeking an experienced, hands-on people manager to lead a data science and analytics team supporting Growth product initiatives. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to deliver insights that inform strategy, optimize user experiences, and accelerate business growth.

You will guide senior leaders through data and AI strategy, coach scientists on problem solving, and drive rigorous analyses when needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data science, with at least 4 years managing and scaling teams.
• Deep expertise in product analytics across SaaS or product-led environments.
• Advanced coding, statistics, and experimentation proficiency; mentor data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of data scientists.
• Shape product and business strategy through data.
• Develop and scale measurement frameworks for product initiatives (including AI).
• Support experimentation and decision-making (A/B tests, funnel analysis).
• Partner on AI-powered product development with ML Engineering and Product.
• Balance strategic and hands-on impact; communicate insights to leadership.
