Job summary

Vatn Systems is seeking a Chief of Staff, Growth to support the Chief Growth Officer in driving execution across business development, marketing, strategy, partnerships, and government relations.

The successful candidate will manage the growth organization’s operating cadence, translate strategy into action, track follow-through, and keep cross-functional initiatives on track while representing CGO priorities externally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
• 5+ years in a chief of staff or executive support role, ideally at a startup or in defense/government technology.
• Clearance eligible for SECRET or above; active clearance a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; highly organized with follow-through across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Experience with government contracting, business development, or government relations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the CGO’s day-to-day workflow, including prioritization, meeting cadence, and decision tracking, and help manage communication across BD, marketing, government relations, and external partnership stakeholders.
• Assist translating strategy into execution plans with clear owners and deadlines.
• Prepare briefing materials, leadership readouts, and board-level updates.
• Run recurring reviews of growth org priorities and flag risks before they elevate.
• Coordinate across Growth Team functional areas, including Business Development, Government Relations, and Strategic Communications.
• Act as a trusted extension of the CGO by identifying information needs and delivering high-quality briefings.
