Job summary

The Oaks Academy in Brownwood, Texas is seeking a Group Supervisor to lead and mentor Direct Juvenile Support Workers and supervise Coach Counselors and Night Coach Counselors on units, education, and activity areas.

You will ensure adherence to schedules, maintain staff-to-student ratios, and model program values while engaging in all required activities. A high school diploma and background check are required; bilingual English/Spanish is encouraged.

The Oaks Academy is a secure post-adjudication facility located in Brownwood, Texas that provides comprehensive services to young men (13-17), using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, we empower youth to reach their full potential. Pay: $48,000/annually depending on relevant education and experience

What you will do: A Group Supervisor is considered a lead mentor to the Direct Juvenile Support Workers, providing direction and supervision to both staff and students. The Group Supervisor will directly supervise Coach Counselors and Night Coach Counselors while being within the mix with them on the units, in Education, and anywhere else where there is ROP activity. This position does exercise authority in ensuring staff and students adhere to the facility and daily schedules, including being on time and participation in all program elements required. As a Group Supervisor, you will work on the same schedule as the Coach Counselors and effectively maintain the proper staff to student ratio for coverage. This position requires you to be a role model for staff and students, leading by example and modeling ROP programming.
