Job summary

The Oaks Academy in Brownwood, TX seeks a Youth Care Worker to join Rite of Passage Brand's mission of improving youth lives. This secure post-adjudication facility serves youths aged 13–17 with trauma-informed, gender-responsive care, now launching an all-girls program.

• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test.
• Ability to pass a child abuse central registry search.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility.
• Address the physical, personal, and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development.
• Create an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs.
• Monitor and document behaviors and activities.
• Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet each youth's treatment plan goals.

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth. The Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Youth Care Worker at The Oaks Academy in Brownwood, Texas.

We are celebrating the opening of our new all‑girls program. As we welcome our female youth population, we are looking for strong role models to provide services and mentorship.

The Oaks is a secure post‑adjudication facility located in Brownwood that provides comprehensive services to young men and women (13‑17) using a trauma‑informed, strength‑based, gender‑responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions, we empower youth to reach their full potential. The facility offers group, individual, and family therapy, on‑site schooling, individual dorm rooms, and extracurricular opportunities.

Pay: starting at $17/hour, plus additional compensation based on education and experience.

What you will do

Schedule

Rotating schedule – one long week (Monday, Tuesday, half of Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday); one short week (half of Wednesday and Thursday). Shifts: 12 hours – 7 p‑m to 7 a‑m.
