Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Group Product Manager for NextGen solutions, leading a small PM team and owning discovery, requirements, and shipping with engineering and design partners. You will shape strategy across NextGen, drive coherence across portfolios, and champion AI-enabled, data-driven software with real campus impact.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan launches, define success metrics, and ensure regulatory alignment across FERPA and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a track record of shipping products.
• 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software with measurable impact.
• Ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Product Ownership: own one or more NextGen solutions end to end and ship with engineering and design partners.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of Product Managers; set expectations and recruit talent as the team expands.
• Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap; translate goals into a sequenced plan delivering value to institutions and students.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and ensure market readiness.
