Job summary

Nelnet’s NextGen portfolio is seeking an experienced Group Product Manager to own one or more solutions end to end, run discovery, write requirements, and ship with engineering and design partners, while growing a small team of Product Managers.

You will shape the portfolio strategy, drive a cohesive roadmap, and build AI-enabled applications that reduce manual work for campus staff and improve outcomes for institutions, students, and administrators.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself
• 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products
• Track record of personally shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software products with measurable business impact
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Product Ownership: own one or more NextGen solutions end to end, run discovery, write requirements, prioritize, and ship with engineering and design.
• Team Leadership & Development: mentor and grow a small team of Product Managers, set expectations, hire talent, and foster a high-agency culture.
• Product Strategy & Execution: own product vision, strategy, and roadmap; connect portfolios for greater value and explore AI applications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with sales, marketing, implementation, and client support to plan launches and ensure market readiness and adoption.
