Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Houston, TX, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist Group Lead for a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role supervises a MLS team, performs analyses, and ensures QC, SOP adherence, and timely reporting of patient results.

The position requires MLS-level expertise with 3–5 years of clinical experience, possibly ASCP certification, and a focus on leadership, accuracy, and compliance in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience as a Medical Technologist within the designated discipline.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide a credential evaluation from IERF.
• US-educated candidates must provide a detailed original transcript.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all duties of a Medical Technologist I and II.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests following SOPs and QC requirements.
• Support lab policies for specimen handling, test analysis and recordkeeping.
• Adhere to schedules to maintain turnaround times, including STATS/critical results.
• Perform, review and document QC analysis and decide on assay disposition.
• Review requests for validity checks and advise on action considering specimen limits and test quality.
• Investigate analytical problems and provide actions for non-routine inquiries from clients/sales.
