Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II in Houston, TX, working Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The role involves performing routine and non-routine laboratory tests with oversight, ensuring quality control and accurate reporting to physicians.

Minimum three years of high-complexity clinical lab testing experience is preferred for BS/BA holders. ASCP certification is a plus, with a comprehensive benefits package and potential performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Requires Associates or higher in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• BS in Medical Technology or related field preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred (optional).
• Three years of high-complexity testing experience preferred for BS/BA holders.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report analytical tests per SOPs with quality control.
• May perform moderate/high complexity testing with supervision.
• Maintain specimen handling, processing, and recordkeeping.
• Adhere to turnaround times including STATs and critical results.
• Ensure reagents and test kits have received dates and expiration dates.
• Document QC analyses and instrument function; inform supervisors of issues.
• Enter results into LIS for physician reports and audits.
• Maintain safe, clean lab workspace and comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA.
