Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist Group Lead for Lewisville, TX. The role supports Microbiology General, with a 3:00 PM–11:30 PM schedule and rotating weekends, reporting to the Lab Supervisor as a technical leader.

The candidate will perform moderate/high complexity tests, ensure QC compliance, and mentor staff while maintaining safety, HIPAA, and CLIA standards in a fast-paced environment. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of clinical experience as a Medical Technologist in Microbiology.
• ASCP Certification required.
• Foreign-educated candidates must provide credential evaluation from IERF; U.S.-educated candidates must provide original transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all duties of a Medical Technologist I and II.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests per SOPs and QC requirements.
• Support laboratory policies for specimen handling, testing, reporting and records.
• Adhere to schedules to maintain turnaround times including STATS or critical results.
• Serve as a technical resource, investigate analytical problems and guide testing actions.
• Assist Lab Supervisor by monitoring workflow and training staff; contribute to performance appraisals.
• Expedite workflow to maximize capacity and coordinate cross-department resolutions.
• Maintain safe, functional laboratory spaces and equipment; participate in annual competency testing.
