Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support vegetation control from the ground. You will clear brush and trees using hand tools and gas-powered equipment, load debris, and assist with job-site cleanup and safety duties.

This full-time position requires outdoor work in varying conditions, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel for storm-related tasks. Join a team focused on safety and efficiency in utility vegetation management.

Qualifications

• This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; preferred experience in utility vegetation or related fields.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground-based vegetation control using hand tools and gas-powered equipment.
• Clear brush and trees from rights-of-way; load and unload debris and feed into chipper.
• Maintain cleanliness and order at job sites; perform basic truck/equipment maintenance.
• Set up road signs and flag traffic to protect workers and the public, and assist storm restoration as needed.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper PPE usage; communicate hazards to crew.
