Job summary

ISA Certified Arborist is seeking a Groundsperson in the United States (Georgia) to support the crew from the ground. Valid Driver's License required. The role involves clearing brush/trees, loading material, operating equipment, and performing site clean-up.

The position requires physical strength, endurance, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather. Travel for storm restoration work may be required and safety practices must be followed at all times.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saw and pruners in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must be able to wear necessary PPE.
• Must have and maintain a Driver’s License if hired for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules.
• Keep work area clear of debris.
• Work from the ground to clear undergrowth using saws and pruners.
• Load and unload trucks with logs and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Lower limbs with hand lines and operate equipment.
• Perform general site clean-up after completion.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic for safety.
• Drive trucks or operate other equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Ensure safety of employees and public; communicate with crew.
• Assist with storm work when needed.
