Job summary

ISA Certified Arborist is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by clearing brush and trees from the ground and handling site cleanup. The role emphasizes safe practices, debris removal, and driving or operating equipment as needed.

The position requires outdoor work, physical strength, ability to travel for storm restoration, and eligibility for first aid/CPR certification. Travel is required and health insurance benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs and operate chainsaws in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must wear PPE as required.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License for driving positions.
• Must understand verbal job instructions.
• Must maintain balance on uneven terrain.
• Must be able to communicate with others.
• Must have endurance for an eight to ten hour day.
• Must be able to operate and service required tools and equipment.
• Must be able to travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Keep work area clear of debris.
• Work from the ground and clear undergrowth using handsaws, pole saws and pruners.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Use lines to lower limbs and equipment.
• Perform general cleanup of job sites after completion.
• Carry, prepare, and store materials, tools and equipment on site.
• Set up and break down road signs as directed.
• Flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment; report major repairs.
• Safeguard employees and public by enforcing safe practices.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
