Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based tasks such as clearing brush and trees, loading trucks with debris, and ensuring sites are cleaned after work. A valid Driver's License is required and safety is emphasized on every job.

The role involves operating hand tools, saws, and equipment, plus assisting with storm restoration when needed. This is a full-time position with health insurance and a 401K option.

Qualifications

• Must have physical strength and balance for operating tools in uneven terrain.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance and follow them accurately.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must wear and manage PPE as required on site.
• Driver's License required if position involves driving.
• Able to understand verbal job instructions clearly.
• Must maintain balance on uneven ground during tasks.
• Strong communication with team members.
• Endurance to complete an 8–10 hour day.
• Able to operate and service required tools and equipment.
• Must travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground-based work to clear brush and trees from right-of-way using hand tools and saws.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and public.
• Drive trucks or operate other equipment as assigned; perform basic maintenance on vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area; report major repairs as needed.
• Follow safety rules and enforce safe practices on site.
