Job summary

ISA Certified Arborist is seeking a Groundsperson to support crews by clearing brush and trees from the ground and performing site clean-up. The position requires a valid Driver’s License and ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Essential duties include using hand tools and power saws, loading trucks with debris, guiding safety and traffic control, and assisting with storm restoration work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saw and pruners in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must be able to wear necessary PPE and maintain a Driver’s License if driving.
• Must be able to comprehend verbal job instructions and maintain balance on uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules.
• Clear debris and work from the ground using saws and pruners.
• Load/unload trucks with logs and brush; feed brush into chipper.
• Lower limbs with hand lines; perform site cleanup after work.
• Set up/break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned.
• Perform routine maintenance on trucks and equipment.
