Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Kentucky is seeking a Groundsperson to clear brush and trees on job sites, with benefits including medical, vision, dental and a 401K option. Prior outdoor work is preferred; a driver’s license is valued.

This full-time position emphasizes safety, teamwork and reliable operation of tools such as chain saws and pruners. The role involves steady, eight-to-ten hour days, travel for storm restoration as needed, and passing a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must be able to drag heavy limbs and use cutting tools in uneven terrain.
• Able to work outdoors in varying or adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must wear required PPE and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Keep work area clear of debris.
• Use handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and gas-powered saws to cut brush and trees.
• Load and unload trucks with logs and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and public.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned; perform basic maintenance.
