Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew on the ground, following safety rules to maintain a clean and safe work zone. A valid driver’s license is required, with CDL preferred, and the role involves manual work with pruning tools and equipment.

The position is full-time, with potential overtime and weekend work during emergencies. A high school diploma is preferred, and background checks and drug screens are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver's license required. CDL preferred.
• Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform from the ground while observing safety rules to guarantee a clean and safe work zone.
• Use handsaws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas and set up/break down materials, tools, and equipment.
• Feed brush into the woodchipper and load/unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned and perform basic maintenance; report major repairs.
• Tie knots, rope breaks, and speed lines per industry standards; safeguard employees and the public.
• Work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
