Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a full-time Groundsperson to support our vegetation management operations. You will work outdoors using saws, pruners, and equipment to clear brush and trees, with responsibilities including staging, loading, and equipment setup.

A valid driver’s license is required, with CDL preferred, and overtime may be needed during emergencies. Travel is required for storm restoration work as needed; background checks and drug screens may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required. CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws and pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas and set up/break down material, tools, and equipment as required.
• Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper and load/unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned and perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards and flag traffic as needed.
• Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
