Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based work, clearing brush and trees as directed, and handling job-site cleanup. The role emphasizes safety, debris clearance, and proper equipment handling.

Responsibilities include operating hand tools and small equipment, loading materials, and assisting with storm-related duties as needed. A valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saw and pruners in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must have and maintain a Driver’s License if hired for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety practices and keep the work area clear of debris.
• Clear undergrowth from right-of-way using handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and saws to cut brush and trees.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Lower limbs with hand lines and perform general clean-up after work.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and public.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned; perform basic vehicle maintenance.
