Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based work, clearing brush and trees, and completing site clean-up. A valid Driver’s License is required for driving duties.

The role emphasizes safety, outdoor work in varying weather, and coordination with the foreperson for equipment and site needs. Responsibilities include clearing right-of-way with hand tools, loading trucks, setting up traffic control, and performing routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to drag heavy limbs and use chain saws in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions and maintain PPE use.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must be able to travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules on site.
• Keep work area clear of debris.
• Work from the ground to clear undergrowth using hand tools.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs and flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive truck or operate other assigned equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Assist with storm restoration work as needed.
