Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based tasks, clearing brush and trees, and cleaning up each job site. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficient debris removal in varying weather conditions.

You will operate hand tools like saws and pruners, load equipment, set up signs, and assist with storm-related work as needed. A valid driver’s license and background check are required for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Must have physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs and operate tools in uneven terrain.
• Must work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance and communicate with team.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must wear PPE and have a valid Driver’s License if driving.
• Must pass background check and drug screen as required.
• Must meet I-9 requirements and pass E-Verify where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground-based work clearing brush and trees using hand tools such as saws and pruners.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned; perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Assist storm restoration work as needed and coordinate with Foreperson.
