Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based tasks, clearing brush, and assisting with job-site cleanup. The role emphasizes safety, endurance, and teamwork in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities include using hand tools and gas-powered saws, loading materials, guiding traffic, and maintaining equipment. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saws and pruners in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must have a Driver’s License if hired for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and keep work area clear of debris.
• Clear undergrowth from right-of-way with hand tools and gas-powered saws.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive trucks or operate other equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment; report major repairs.
