Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support crews by performing ground-based tasks such as clearing brush and trees, loading materials, and assisting with site cleanup. A valid driver’s license is required.

You will follow safety practices, operate hand tools and power saws, and help protect workers by setting up traffic control and maintaining equipment). This role involves outdoor labor, teamwork, and potential travel for storm restoration work.

Qualifications

• Must have physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs and operate tools on uneven terrain.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and follow safety rules.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance and communicate with co-workers.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR training.
• Must wear required PPE and possess a valid driver’s license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to clear undergrowth from right‑of‑way using handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and gas chainsaws.
• Load/unload trucks with logs and debris; feed brush into a brush chipper.
• Set up/break down road signs and flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned and perform basic maintenance on vehicles.
• Perform general clean-up after each job site and safeguard others from hazards.
• Participate in storm restoration work as needed.
